Getting started
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We welcome new patients for primary care, addiction treatment, and all of our services. Send a request online or call us to get started.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to become a patient. If your insurance plan requires one for certain services, our team will help you sort it out.
Who do you see?
We provide care for adults in our community. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background, income, or history.
I haven't seen a provider in years. Can I still come in?
Of course. There's no judgment here. We'll start where you are and help you catch up at your own pace.
Appointments
How soon can I be seen?
We work hard to see new patients quickly, and especially to get people seeking addiction treatment in as soon as possible. Call us for the next available time.
How long is the first visit?
Plan for about an hour. It's longer than a typical visit so we have time to get to know you and your health.
Do you offer telehealth?
Some follow-up visits can be done by video or phone. Your provider will let you know when it's a good fit.
What if I need to cancel?
Please call at least 24 hours ahead if you can. We'll help you find a new time.
Insurance & billing
What insurance do you accept?
We work with Maryland Medicaid plans, Medicare, and many commercial insurance plans. Call us with your plan information and we'll confirm your coverage.
What if I don't have insurance?
You can still be seen. Ask about self-pay options. We can also help you find out whether you qualify for Medicaid or other coverage.
Will I know the cost ahead of time?
Yes. We'll walk you through your coverage and any expected costs before your visit, so there are no surprises.
Addiction treatment
Can I get primary care and addiction treatment in the same place?
Yes, and that's one of the things that makes Haven Health different. Your provider sees the full picture of your health, so your care is coordinated from the start.
Do you prescribe Suboxone?
We offer buprenorphine (including Suboxone) and other medications for opioid and alcohol use disorder when they're right for you. Learn more on our addiction treatment page.
What if I relapse?
You won't be shamed or turned away. Relapse can be part of recovery. We'll adjust your plan and keep going together.
Can family members come to appointments?
Yes, with your permission. Support from people you trust can make a real difference.
Privacy
Will my information be kept private?
Absolutely. Your health information is protected under federal privacy law (HIPAA), and records related to substance use treatment carry additional protections under 42 CFR Part 2.
Will my employer find out I'm in treatment?
Not from us. We don't share your information without your written permission, except in limited situations the law requires.
How can I get a copy of my records?
Call our office to request your records. We'll explain the simple release form and how long it takes.
